No Nicholl for Josh
When I wrote about Why I do not Want to Win a Nicholl Fellowship, I was more just trying to vent a Fear that I think every artist and writer has to deal with at some point -- the Fear of "Success."
Well, apparently it's not yet time for me to face said Fear, as my screenplay, KILLING HARPER, has failed to advance to the semi-final round. I went back and re-read the first few pages of the thing and, frankly, I'm not all that surprised. It is, after all, only my second screenplay. The work of an amateur.
Seven scripts later, I feel like I know a lot more, and that my writing has improved significantly. So like a pro, I shrug it off, pick up my pen, and head back into the fray.
