The rough stages of a painting are rarely particularly attractive in their own right; but since I so publicly announced my return to painting a few days ago, I thought I'd throw out a quick visual progress report on my bare-nekked fairy. Here 'tis:
I read somewhere once that cross-training is really important for artists of all kinds - that doing only one kind of art all the time stagnates. And I think there was something too about math, that doing math helps you do better art. Or maybe I'm making that up since I can't even remember where I read it. I do know that creating a really big crossword puzzle (when I had a lot of down-time during my volunteer days, usually waiting for meetings to start) did wonders for sharpening me intellectually. So. Keep painting!
